Rachel Silander, Bridesmaid

Caroline first met Rachel in 2009 when Rachel was in Chicago visiting her brother. Within minutes of meeting Rachel it was obvious that that though the siblings shared many attributes, they varied slightly in personality. Lively and chatty, Caroline hit it off with Rachel pretty quickly, sharing lots of laughs while exchanging Ian-stories. Caroline is always grateful for Rachel's regular Facetime sessions, as there is no better way to catch up on all the Silander news... and maybe share a few more laughs at Ian's expense.

Sarah Koenig, Bridesmaid

While Caroline had encountered the legendary Hurrikoenig at a number of Knox functions, she didn’t get to know the real Sarah Koenig until, like Mary, Sarah began visiting Caroline and Sibel's amazing dorm room.  Caroline and Sarah share many interests, including but not limited to, dive bars, concocting social theories, and jamming out to the band INXS. While living together in St. Louis, Sarah repeatedly accompanied Caroline on her drives to Chicago to visit Ian, - even helping Caroline devise the made-up reasons that they had  visit. Without Sarah, this wedding may not be happening.

Elizabeth Allen, Maid of Honor

Caroline’s first memory of Elizabeth was the Bissingers ' chocolate lollipop she was given to celebrate the birth of her sister. Soon after, Caroline realized that lollipop was the last treat she would ever be given that wouldn’t require her to share with her younger sister. It turned out that sharing with Elizabeth wasn’t all bad. In the last 26 years,  the two have shared bedrooms all over the world, countless jars of pickles and laughs so loud they were "advised" by their parents to quiet down. While you will still catch them laughing too loudly,  Elizabeth remains Caroline’s most trusted confidant, greatest supporter and best-est friend.

Sibel Karabeygolu, Bridesmaid

Caroline met Sibel during a tour of their new High School in Istanbul. During this tour, Caroline and Sibel quickly realized they had nothing in common and had zero interest in being friends. To their disappointment, the two were forced to share a room at questionable hostel in Prague while visiting for a soccer tournament. Somehow, during their brief stint as roommates, Sibel and Caroline went from enemies to best friends -discovering a shared enthusiasm for food, sarcasm and petty theft (aka "borrowing").  After more than a decade of friendship, Sibel has developed the ability to read Caroline’s mind based only on her facial expressions.

Megan Silander, Bridesmaid

Caroline also met Ian’s older sister Megan in Chicago, In typical Caroline fashion, she rushed into their first lunch, flustered and already late for the train she was supposed to catch that evening. Caroline remembers thinking that Megan was so calm, collected and kind, whereas Caroline was rambling on while inhaling her lunch in an effort to make her train. As Caroline has gotten to know Megan better, Megan has only confirmed these original impressions - making her kind of an inspiration during Caroline's especially chaotic moments.

Mary Batterman, Bridesmaid

Mary Batterman, a renowned drifter, started dropping by Caroline and Sibel’s dorm in 2005. Soon after, Caroline and Mary started embarking on regular adventures around Galesburg, most of which concluded at the HyVee cafeteria. In 2006 they moved into a huge apartment that was inconsistent in the heat department, but the size of a mansion. While at "The Mansion", Mary and Caroline solidified their friendship though a shared misunderstanding of their television, Elvis Costello, and pairing expensive cheeses with boxed wine.
